    This place, totally dedicated to the natural heritage, is located at the entry of the Eyne valley. Known since the 16th century and recognized since the 17th century, the natural reserve is the favourite garden of the botanists. Together with the reserve, the museum leads various actions to make people aware of how important it is to know and respect the environment.

  • THE SOLAR FURNACE (CNRS)

    FONT-ROMEU-ODEILLO-VIA

    Built in 1968, the solar furnace of Odeillo shelters the National Scientific Research Center of which the specificity is research on elements and their properties at high temperatures. Its gigantic mirror concentrates up to 16 000 times the energy of the sun that hits the earth’s surface and is capable of reaching temperatures up to 3500 degrees.
