Safety advice
Before going out to sea...
- Check the weather forecast and advice posted up at the 'capitainerie'.
- Do not go out when there is limited visibility (fog, heavy rain...).
- Make sure your engine is in good working order, check your fuel level and that all compulsory safety equipment is on board.
- Respect areas marked out as reserved for bathers. Keep a minimum distance of 100 metres between your craft and any area indicating the presence of scuba divers.
- A boat licence is obligatory to pilot motor boats over 6 CV.
- When there is reduced visibility, the autopilot should be turned off and special care taken to adapt to visibility conditions.
- Explain your proposed itinerary to your crew.
- Only send out distress signals in case of extreme danger.
- All witnesses to accidents at sea should immediately inform the CrossMed.
- Do not consume alcohol.
- Do not through your rubbish overboard!
