The department of Pyrénées-Orientales is an ideal place to take care of your children’s well-being. Establishments and health professionals will welcome you in the best conditions.
The Pyrénées-Orientales have several spa resorts specialised in treating respiratory diseases (Amélie-les-Bains, Molitg-les-Bains...).
Spa treatments are medical treatments lasting about 3 weeks. Mineral water is consumed daily by the patients, and is used in baths as well as aerosols or sprays on asthmatic children.
Thermal waters have a local action on the airways but also the cause of the disease and the psyche of the children.
But mountain climatic treatment (in Font-Romeu, Osséja ...) is really what treats children with asthma.
