The Yellow Train in summer

Original, genuine, poetic, impressive, outstanding, audacious.

The famous railway line of the Yellow Train is the pride and joy and the symbol of the Catalan Pyrenees, whose colours of blood and gold the train bears so triumphantly. From this colour of gold comes the train's nickname of "canary". The Yellow Train is the most unexpected way of reaching the territory of the Regional Nature Park of Catalan Pyrenees.

The train serves thwenty-two stations along the sixty-three kms of railway line from "Villefranche/Vernet-les-Bains/Fuilla" up to "Latour-de-Carol/Enveitg". From the valley of the Têt River, where it begins its mountain climb, clinging to narrow cornices and straddling the waters of the river twisting and turning below, all along its  journey to the Cerdan Plateau, the train offers a panorama of exceptional sceneries punctuated by cultural sites. You must not forget that at fourteen of the twenty-two stations, the train only stops if you have already requested it. To get on the train, signal to the train driver. To get off, warn the ticket inspector well beforehand.
Since 2004, in its framework of its attributions in matter of transport, the « Région Languedoc-Roussillon » has done as much as possible to improve the quality and comfort of the train: new bus links and road services, rehabilitation of the stations, modernisation of the rolling stock... This Regional Express Train ensures that all the year round it is possible to make several return journeys every day whatever are the climatic conditions. The Yellow Train also has an international vocation! It enables you to discover an exceptional part of the country.

Take the time to stop off, to have a walk around.
